Out of interest, I've tried various browsers on windows to see what they
generate for newlines in TEXTAREAs. The results are: 

   Netscape (1 and 4PR): \r\n
   MSIE 3:               \r\n
   MSIE 4:               \r

They have effectively changed the define newline in TEXTAREAs from \r\n to
\r (you can get MSIE 4 to send a \r\n return by using CONTROL-RETURN - all
other browsers generate the same newlines for RETURN and CTRL-RETURN). I'd
love to consider this a bug and report it, but I've never read anything
that defines the line-endings in a TEXTAREA. If you know that it is
officially defined somewhere, please let me know. This seems like a really
pointless change.
