Saw this on c.i.w.s.unix, thought it might be something that the someone on
the group might be interested in pursuing... Would certainly be a help for
high load servers that get alot of hits on particular documents.

It probably wouldn't be all that difficult to implement.

I couldn't tell in the API docs whether their was a generalized way for a
module to access shared memory segments between processes. (Wouldn't do to
have 20 megs of cache for each process, also wouldn't work too well.)

| Does Apache currently do any caching of objects it serves? A question
| regarding Harvest/Squid made me think of this since I have seen
| no documentation in Apache regarding this.

| tell Apache it can have 20MB to cache objects, and even be able to precache
| things with certain tags...
