Subject: WWW Form Bug Report: "Apache fails to run, setgid error reported." on AIX

Submitter: jnu@raleigh.ibm.com
Operating system: AIX, version: 4.1.4
Version of Apache Used: 1.2b2, 1.2b1, 1.1.1
Extra Modules used:
URL exhibiting problem:

Symptoms:

The Apache httpd cannot start because setgid
(in http_main.c) returns with -1. This is probably
due to the user not changing this line in the
httpd.conf configuration file:
    Group #-1
This can be FIXED on AIX by replacing that line with:
    Group nobody
At least this _seems_ to work for _me_.
(I know you don't want configuration questions, but
I've seen this posted before on the newsgroups, and
I thought the above solution might appear in future
documentation somewhere).
