Right now, we would simply use autoconf to enable us to determine
the OS/Platform. Thus, our Configure would call configure which
would return the "standard" machine-manuf-os string for Configure
to parse.

We also have a "home-brewed" script that does the same, but isn't as
all inclusive as config.guess
