Subject: WWW Form Bug Report: "Proxy returns 404 (url not found) to client on GET request,
but same url works for non-proxied client." on BSDI

Submitter: hope@chanchan.pnic.pnud.org.pe
Operating system: BSDI, version:
Version of Apache Used: 1.1.1
Extra Modules used: proxy_module, dbm_auth_module, db_auth_module, anon_auth_module, info_module
URL exhibiting problem: http://hojas.pnic.pnud.org.pe/folio.pgi/spij/query=*/toc/{@1}/hits_only/depth=2?

Symptoms:
--
I have a "canned" query (see the URL, in next
field) which points to a Folio Web server running
on a NT Server machine.

This canned query (a GET) works fine directly
from the client (that is, not going through
the Apache proxy). However, if I have the client
use the Apache proxy (www.pnic.pnud.org.pe port 80)
and try to do the query (the URL in question),
Apache returns 404 (URL not found) to the client.
The 404 is also reflected in the Apache log.

Maybe it's because the URL has not-too-standard
characters in it (at-sign, curly braces, asterisk).

Everything else works fine.

Thanks!
