Subject Virtual web site by IP addr in Apache 1.1.0
Date Wed, 07 Aug 1996 04:29:36 GMT

Hi,

I am going to set up several virtual hosts, with web server
Apache 1.1.0 in a Sun Sparc 20 running Solaris 2.4. The machine
has been configured using ifconfig to receive packets of several
addresses

        202.70.255.41
        202.70.255.42
        ...

Part of httpd.conf looks like :

        BindAddress *
        ...
        <VirtualHost www.umhl.com>
        ServerAdmin webmaster@asianet.net.hk
        DocumentRoot /home/comp/umhl/public_html
        BindAddress 202.70.255.41
        ServerName www.umhl.com
        ErrorLog /usr/adm/apache_logs/umhl.com-error_log
        TransferLog /usr/adm/apache_logs/umhl.com-access_log
        </VirtualHost>

        <VirtualHost www.medcom.com.hk>
        ServerAdmin webmaster@asianet.net.hk
        DocumentRoot /home/comp/medcom/public_html
        BindAddress 202.70.255.42
        ServerName www.medcom.com.hk
        ErrorLog /usr/adm/apache_logs/medcom.com.hk-error_log
        TransferLog /usr/adm/apache_logs/medcom.com.hk-access_log
        </VirtualHost>
        ...

DNS of these two web sites surely works.

The problem is when I use Netscape 3.0b5 to browse these 2 web sites,
it is hung during "Contacting host ..." and finally time out.

Do I have set something wrongly?

Thank you very much for your kind attention and have a nice day!

Best regards,
Patrick.
