That's what we said for 1.1b4, and 1.1b3... and we'll say for the public
beta of 1.1b6 at this rate.  The changes from 1.1b4 to b5 have been minor
and well tested.  We will have patches and bugfixes for 1.1 final, no
matter when it's released.  I feel the current distribution is well
tested and ready to go.  

My Friday message, titled "A proposal" as well, had us build 1.1b5 as an
internal release, compile it on a wide array of platforms to verify that
no stupid errors were made and that it does indeed compile everywhere we'd
like it to, and then if that succeeds, renaming the version number to
1.1-final and releasing it.
