Subject: WWW Form Bug Report: "unathenticated file upload gives browser error" on Solaris
2.x

Submitter:
Operating system: Solaris 2.x, version:
Extra Modules used:
URL exhibiting problem:

Symptoms:
--
Uploading a file into apache that is larger than
a few K, using Netscape 2.0, when the upload
requires authentication, causes apache to close
the pipe early on the browser, which causes the
browser to give an error "server closed connection"
and cancel the request, rather than requesting
authentication from the user and retrying with
the authentication header.
This does not happen when the form data is small as
the browser sends all before the socket is closed.
