Subject Fatal error recording in scoreboard?
Date Fri, 26 Apr 1996 03:18:33 GMT
Would it perhaps be useful to add another state to the scoreboard which
indicates that a server process died abnormally? I think server admins are
going to be using /status to check how their system is running, and if an
'E' would show up in the scoreboard slot where a server died on an error and
the corresponding error condition along with the URL the caused it
appeared in the long info below on the /status screen, then they would be
able to quickly determine if bad things were happening to their system.
Certainly easier than grepping through the access_log.

It shouldn't be all that hard to implement. Just a call from the various
signal handlers to insert the information into the scoreboard structure and
a slight modification to mod_status.c.
