I've made some substantial edits to the draft of my WWW5 paper
(at http://www.ai.mit.edu/people/rst/api-paper.html --- same place
as before); I've noted a few more problems with the current API
(including those raised by Mark), and included a bunch of new
sections comparing the Apache API with others, and with other
technical approaches (extension languages, RPC-based mechanisms).
The bibliography hasn't quite caught up, but it will ;-).

Feel free to take another look...
