Maybe adding code to mod_access.c to perform the gethostbyaddr when
accessing a space protected by DNS restrictions would be a good idea?

Subject: minimal DNS and authentication

Before I start putzing around on this one, has anyone patched Apache so
that it will do a reverse lookup when compiled with -DMINIMAL_DNS when it
needs to do hostname-based .htaccess authentication? It's annoying to
see all of your restrictions drop out from under you. :)
