Subject 0.6.5 live
Date Tue, 23 May 1995 08:14:46 GMT

Okay, 0.6.5 is live on apache's web page. Notes:

The differences to 0.6.4b are: no -DPEM_AUTH code, no /support/auth
directory, and a new set of DirectoryIndex icons thanks to Kevin Hughes.

I wrote up a page explaining why we did this. Check it out at
<URL:>, let me know what you
think. I wrote it speaking for the group, as it sounded like we had
reached consensus, but I'm willing to change it.

As soon as the mirrors are updated with the new code, I'll update the
pointers to their site on the home page.

For the NSA snoops out there, current and future, I did not look at David's
O103 to make the changes. Good thing, too, as I would have missed a PEM call
in httpd.c :)

Also, Rob, I didn't make these changes to 0.7 yet, thought I'd ask you

Finally, all code with -DPEM_AUTH has been removed from both the /apache/ and
the /httpd/ directories (you can say /httpd/'s not public if you want, to
which I say "Denial ain't just a river in Egypt!") and put it in

Good night.

p.s. - apache got a good work out today as one of our pages made it to
"cool site of the day", resulting in an obscene number of hits.
