In my case, i would need this for a shared hosting platform, so i cant rely on
the users having to modify their htaccess to use %{ENV:HTTPS} instead of
%{HTTPS}, it has to be transparent for the users.


As for testing the subprocess_env "HTTPS" instead of the note in mod_rewrite,
it definitely seems to be a better approach.
