            Bug ID: 56515
Summary: SSL Proxy proctocol (WSS) breaks and talks NON-SSL to
                    backend
           Product: Apache httpd-2
           Version: 2.4.9
          Hardware: PC
                OS: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: critical
          Priority: P2
         Component: mod_proxy_wstunnel
          Assignee: bugs@httpd.apache.org
          Reporter: andre.wendel@bmw.de

Hello,

i tried to tunnel an websocket SSL connection to a GFv4 backend which runs on
SSL, but i wan't able to establish an connection.

As long as I configured the ProxyPass rules with the protocol WS on the HTTP
port of the Glassfish everything worked as expected. After changing the
configuration to WSS and the HTTPS port, the connection breaks.

During the debug with whireshark, is seems that even if the proxypass rules run
on WSS the Apache talks NON SSL to the backend, because all requests are
readable by whireshark?

After changing the configuration to WSS ProxyPass on NON SSL the communication
worked.

Best regards,
André
