I know this is quite an old issue - but I ran into this last week, so here is a
workaround that works for S10 U4 or newer:

Define following in your start script for apache:

LD_PRELOAD_32=/usr/lib/extendedFILE.so.1
export LD_PRELOAD_32 
==
