This error message typically indicates that the client did not deliver the
announced amount of data at all or within a reasonable timeframe (Hint: Timeout
setting in httpd) during a PUT request.
In your access logs this PUT request can seen here:

192.168.0.10 - myuser [14/Oct/2010:12:08:43 +0000] "PUT
/some/path/100823%20New%20Email%20Newsletter/02%20-%20Design/02%20-%20CV%20Update%20eShot/Thumbs.db
HTTP/1.1" 500 535 "-" "-" "TLbyy8CoEgEAAOdDOXwAAAAD"

(See the 500 response code).

So unless there are more facts this is a client bug and not an httpd bug.
