Subject DO NOT REPLY [Bug 49980] New: can't use a FIFO for SSL key file; mod_ssl checks that size is over zero bytes
Date Wed, 22 Sep 2010 20:58:23 GMT
https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=49980

           Summary: can't use a FIFO for SSL key file; mod_ssl checks that
                    size is over zero bytes
           Product: Apache httpd-2
           Version: 2.2.16
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: mod_ssl
        AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
        ReportedBy: lmeyer@vmware.com

When SSLCertificateKeyFile is set to the name of a FIFO, Apache complains e.g.:

SSLCertificateKeyFile: file '/var/tmp/sslkey.fifo' does not exist or is empty

The code in ssl_util.c checks the specified file as such :

if (pcm & SSL_PCM_ISNONZERO && finfo.size <= 0)
return FALSE;

... even when it's a FIFO.

It would be nice if Apache didn't check the size when it's a FIFO.
