Subject DO NOT REPLY [Bug 49829] New: CGI index command line arguments excessively escaped
Date Thu, 26 Aug 2010 14:04:35 GMT

Summary: CGI index command line arguments excessively escaped
           Product: Apache httpd-2
           Version: 2.2.9
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: trivial
          Priority: P2
         Component: mod_cgi

A CGI query of the form cgiscript?foo+b*r results in two command line arguments
being passed to the CGI script, "foo", and "b\*r". The former is correct, the
latter should be "b*r". The following CGI script demonstrates this:

echo Content-Type: text/plain
echo "$@"

I have tested this with other (non-shell) languages as well and had the same
