Subject DO NOT REPLY [Bug 48536] New: error.log flood
Date Wed, 13 Jan 2010 14:08:49 GMT
https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=48536

           Summary: error.log flood
           Product: Apache httpd-2
           Version: 2.3-HEAD
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: mod_fcgid
        AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
        ReportedBy: PromyLOPh@lavabit.com

Under heady load mod_fcgid floods (one log message per request, I guess) the
errorlog with useless messages like

> [notice] mod_fcgid: too many /usr/local/fcgi-bin/fcgi-php-user processes (current:20,
max:20), skip the spawn request

Unfortunately log messages of level "notice" can't be suppressed when logging
to a regular file. So either change the log level of this message or show it
only *once* per minute/hour/whatever.
