If you can reproduce the error it would be interesting to get a backtrace of
the processing tread / process that is stalling. Please try to get one via gdb
as described on http://httpd.apache.org/dev/debugging.html.

Does this mean you are waiting for 10 minutes with your browser until you give
up?

Ok so httpd waits for reading data and then times out.
