Summary: Ambiguous handling of changed MIME type
           Product: Apache httpd-2
           Version: 2.2.8
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows 2000
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Core
        AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
        ReportedBy: cyaugin@yahoo.com

When a MIME type is changed, Apache does not indicate the file as having changed
(the HTTP 304 response), which leads to problems with browsers loading from
their caches and handling files incorrectly. This was reported to Firefox's
bugzilla but they've basically shifted the issue to Apache (but I didn't find a
reference to it in this database). If you guys agree that it is Apache's
responsibility, well, here it is. Otherwise, maybe get in contact with Mozilla
and see if you can come to a mutual understanding. Some technical details can be
found at the original report: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=198072
