Summary: mod authn dbd authing with mysql fails no authn
                    configured
           Product: Apache httpd-2
           Version: 2.2.4
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: other
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: mod_auth
        AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
        ReportedBy: noel.butler@ausics.net

apache 2.2.4, linux.
DBDriver and DBParams setup in global

Use of mysql fails to auth users, creating a 500 error.
Setup as directed in docs.
Used in virtualhosts
connects and logs in OK to mysql DB, but does nothing more, apache logs show
No DBD Authn configured!
.......but there most certainly is...

mysql log shows:
070503 9:42:57 4 Connect apache@IP.REMOVED on http_AuthDB
070503 9:42:59 4 Quit

Maybe related, docs reflect DBDriver/DBParams etc able to be placed in global
and virtualhost block, I also tried in virt block, apache bails, saying not
allowed here.
