Summary: Apache 2.0.59 doesn't start with virtual host's document
                    root on mount point
           Product: Apache httpd-2
           Version: 2.0.59
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: critical
          Priority: P2
         Component: prefork
        AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
        ReportedBy: nicolas.blaise@saipm.com

Hello,

My problem was discovered when I attempt to start apache and when I run the
apache configtest by command line.

I have a lot of virtual hosts placed on a partition mounted under /data and
apache says that all the related documentroot doesn't exist except for the
defaut virtual host which is a subdirectory of /.

These virtual hosts are properly running on our production machine with apache
2.0.54 and I did my own .spec file to compile apache as rpm.

To be sure that my .spec is not affecting the behaviour of apache I did a
compilation of versions 2.0.54 AND 2.0.59 and run the apachectl binaries.
- In the case of apache 2.0.54, the configtest and the server run properly. I
can access to my websites.
- In the case of apache 2.0.59, the configtest fails and the server doesn't
start. I have no access to the websites.

A second set of tests conviced me that the problem is related to the mount point
. I have placed a test directory tree on /data2/test.
- When /data2/test is not a mount point, apache 2.0.59 starts and the configtest
succeed.
- When I use /data2 as a mount point, apache 2.0.59 doesn't start and the
configtest fails.

It is a strange behaviour when we know that a mount point should be transparent
to the applications and is directly managed by the OS.

I am sorry if this bug was already solved but I didn't find anything on bugzilla.

Thanks for your help.
