I was following the Apache Tutorial: Dynamic Content with CGI at http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/howto/cgi.html It contains a troubleshooting section (But it's still not working! --> The source code of your CGI program or a "POST Method Not Allowed" message). This is exactly the error I was getting for quite a while; when loading the cgi script, I saw only the source code of the script, never the output. The tutorial suggested that my config was wrong, so I spent a long time trying different variations of my Directory, Alias, ScriptAlias, AddHandler, and Options directives. Nothing worked. In the end, the fix was to uncomment the LoadModule cgi_module, which was commented out by default. I don't know if that's apache's default configuration or Gentoo's. Either way, I know it's obvious, but it took me a long time to find that obvious solution. It would be helpful if the troubleshooting section contained a sentence saying to make sure that you have your LoadModule cgi_module line uncommented. -- Configure bugmail: http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: bugs-unsubscribe@httpd.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: bugs-help@httpd.apache.org
