Sorry for being confused, but if gdb does NOT return it does mean that httpd
does not crash or exit. This is contrary to your initial report where you said
that httpd disappears after a few minutes. So it seems to work. This means that
I currently cannot help you any further.

Two further remarks:

1. The command
   thread apply all bt full
   must be entered in the same gdb session in which httpd runs.

2. Please do not attach rtf files. They are hard to read, examine and analyse.  
   Please only attach plain text files or in the rare case that a screenshot is 
   needed gif or jpeg images. If you have a lot of files feel free to put them 
   into a zip or tar.gz archive and attach this.
