Summary: Time to switch to a new compiler in Apache 2?
Product: Apache httpd-2
Version: 2.2.2
Platform: PC
URL: http://subversion.tigris.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=2565
OS/Version: Windows 2000
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: Build
AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
ReportedBy: techtonik@gmail.com

Stiсking to MSVC++ 6.0 with official distributions may cause problems for
projects that use new version of Microsoft compiler. The fact that this compiler
is freely available (unlike MSVC++ 6.0) makes opensource projects migration very
rapid.

The particular problem with ViewVC and new Python is described here, on
Subversion tracker http://subversion.tigris.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=2565
