Ruediger pointed out that there is an even easier place to get this information
for those who need it.  You haven't really provided any argument for why having
the date as part of the release announcement is crucial.  It is not there, in
general, because the release announcement is written several days before the
release and before the final release date is known.  Adding the date would add
extra steps to an already complex process.
