Agreed. So the DEVELOPERS of the 3rd party code should really fix their code.
Or to put it the other way round their code is not and never was compatible with
virtual mass hosting and with ScriptAlias and Alias as Joshua pointed out in #10.
And we do not change the behaviour of DOCUMENT_ROOT because of purity, but
because of backward compatibility (see also
http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=28561#c6)
So why break things for people who use httpd according to the documents, for
some people who don't?
