           Summary: VirtualLocation Enhancement
           Product: Apache httpd-2
           Version: 2.3-HEAD
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: other
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: mod_vhost_alias
        AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
        ReportedBy: ufs@ufsoft.org

Would it be possible to enhance mod_vhost_alias to support <Location></Location>?

The idea is to do the same kind of replacements mod_vhost_alias supports, but
inside a Location block, which could be called for example, LocationAlias, or
VirtualLocation.

Why this, lets take an example:
------------------------------------------
<Location />
      SetEnv PYTHON_EGG_CACHE /tmp
      SetHandler mod_python
      PythonOption TracLocale pt_PT.ISO8859-15
      PythonHandler trac.web.modpython_frontend
      PythonOption TracEnv /var/trac/%1
</Location>

########## Projects - Start ##########################

   <Location /login>
      AuthType Basic
      AuthName "%1::Trac"
      AuthUserFile /var/trac/%1/conf/users
      Require valid-user
   </Location>

   <Location /svn>
   SetHandler none
      <IfDefine SVN>
         DAV svn
         SVNPath /var/svn/repos/%1
         AuthzSVNAccessFile /var/trac/%1/conf/groups
         Satisfy Any
         Require valid-user
         AuthType Basic
         AuthName "%1::SVN"
         AuthUserFile /var/trac/%1/conf/users
      </Ifdefine>
   </Location>
########## Project - End #############################

<LocationMatch /[^/]+/trac>
	SetHandler none
</LocationMatch>
</VirtualHost>
------------------------------------

The above, if it hadn't the '%1' replacements, and a correct/working project, it
would be a working trac environment. With the enhancement I ask, replacing those
Location with a VirtualLocation, or LocationAlias would become any project I'd
want, specified by the url.

Would this be feasable? Or totaly Impossible?
