Well, if mod_dav is changed to only use a read lock on the database, then it
should not block other children from trying to obtain read access and they
should be able to process PROPFIND requests.  What behaviour do you seen in that
case?  What system call do the other children block in?  Can you attach the
patch you used, for reference?
