------- Additional Comments From forrie@forrie.com  2005-09-08 00:42 -------
Here is the 1.3 configuration:

First, the relevant directives for the DocumentRoot:

<Directory />
    Options FollowSymLinks
    AllowOverride All
</Directory>

for the mp3 area:

<Directory /mp3>
        AllowOverride All
        Options Indexes Multiviews
</Directory>

In the DocumentRoot area, I have:

/usr/local/apache/htdocs/mp3

symlinked to,

/local2/mp3

In that stated configuration, it works fine.

When I try this same method with Apache2, I get:

[Wed Sep 07 17:41:16 2005] [error] [client 192.168.1.99] Symbolic link not
allowed: /usr/local/www/data/mp3share

Using the configuration I had stated in my previous message.

The place where I'm link to is on another partition, but that shouldn't make a
difference, as above (the 1.3 config) the link is to a different hard drive
altogether.
