Oh, it's just 32-bit integer overflow in the signed off_t counters.  In 2.1.x
and later the counters are 64-bit by default, so it at least takes "a while"
longer to overflow.

We could change it to cast to an unsigned integer at some point but it'd still
be a lie, I don't think it's really worth changing this in 2.0.
