By far the most likely explanation is that there is a vulnerability in a script
or program that you are using with apache, and not in apache httpd itself. You
should start by checking all scripts and programs called by httpd to see if
there are known problems. (A likely culprit is phpBB, which has a
currently-circulating exploit.)
