Summary: Filename with 2 dots make server choke.
           Product: Apache httpd-2.0
           Version: 2.0.53
          Platform: PC
               URL: http://d-axel.dk/manual/mod/mod_php4/ref.var.html
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: trivial
          Priority: P5
         Component: Core
        AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
        ReportedBy: donald@d-axel.dk

The file is ref.var.html - a standard php4 documentation file.

Rename the file to ref-var.html and then Apache serves the file, all is well!
This is a funny bug! If it really is an Apache bug then somebody should have
noticed before me, but the world is not like that.

I have built the server today without any patches.

The server error_log says:

[Wed Mar 02 21:50:20 2005] [error] [client 83.73.64.174] Syntax error in type
map, no ':' in /var/www/html/manual/mod/mod_php4/ref.var.html for header
<!doctype html public "-//w3c//dtd html 4.01 transitional//en">\n

Which is strange to me. Lynx and tidy syntax check says the ref.var.html file
is ok - and as said above WHEN THE FILE IS RENAMED THERE IS NO PROBLEM!
There are bunches of other ref.something.html which all work ok.

Regards/Donald Axel
