Summary: Cannot Enter a Dot(.) between %-2 and %-1 in
                    VirtualDocumentRoot
           Product: Apache httpd-2.0
           Version: 2.0.52
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: mod_vhost_alias
        AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
        ReportedBy: bguillot@incoretech.com

Hi,

   Using dynamic_vhost

   like this (line52) VirtualDocumentRoot /var/www/standard/%-2.%-1/%-3+/html

a website like abc.example.com should go to
         /var/www/standard/example.com/abc/html FAILS

# /etc/init.d/apache2 start
 * Apache2 has detected a syntax error in your configuration files:
Syntax error on line 52 of /usr/lib/apache2/conf/vhosts/dynamic-vhosts.conf:
syntax error in format string

The problem is with %-2(DOT)%-1 if I replace it with %-2-%-1 it works
         /var/www/standard/example-com/abc/html

I believe there is a problem with the Parser for the configuration.

I did see this bug before under 1.3 This is in 2.0.52.
Simillar Bug listed in Bugzilla as #7978

Hope there is a Solution
