ProxyPass doesn't work without trailing slash

           Summary: ProxyPass doesn't work without trailing slash
           Product: Apache httpd-1.3
           Version: 1.3.31
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: Other
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: Other
         Component: mod_proxy
        AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
        ReportedBy: greg@mwater.ca

Had a strange problem, mostly due to a cryptic error message. Proxying would
work when going to http://domain.com/ but not http://domain.com/page, showing
the following message instead:

-----
Proxy Error
The proxy server could not handle the request GET /page.

Reason: Host not found

Apache/1.3.31 Server at domain.com Port 80
-----

Virtual host is defined as follows:

<VirtualHost 10.10.1.10>
  ServerName domain.com
  ProxyPass / http://10.10.1.20
</VirtualHost>

10.10.1.20 would show an access.log entry for the / request, but nothing for /page.

10.10.1.10 would not only show a 500 code in the access.log, no additional log
entries.

Eventually, resolved the problem by using:

  ProxyPass / http://10.10.1.20/

(note the trailing forward slash). This may just be a configuration issue, but
at the least there should be an error.log entry to help problem solving.
