I have tested this with the stated configuration and I cannot reproduce this. 
I have also checked the source code and the FileDirContext class includes, and 
has included for quite some time, a test that ensures that paths that include 
directories ending in a . are always considered invalid.

I have checked both TC4 and TC5.
