FYI...  I too believe that this is resolved via a Solaris fix (upgrade to the current 
recommended patch level for your version of the OS).

It wouldn't be bad to have a --disable-getaddrinfo configure option in APR, since on 
some older software levels from various vendors getaddrinfo() has some challenges that 
we developers don't always notice ourselves.
