mod_mime_magic doesn't handle little gif files

Summary: mod_mime_magic doesn't handle little gif files
           Product: Apache httpd-1.3
           Version: 1.3.26
          Platform: Sun
        OS/Version: Solaris
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Minor
          Priority: Other
         Component: Other mods
        AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
        ReportedBy: ftrentini@uolinc.com

Using mod_mime_magic to handle the content types of one of my server files,
I've found a possible bug: there was a 40-byte GIF file that apache served
with a text/html content type (using the DefaultType).

To fix this, I added a comment (150 bytes) to the GIF file and it worked well.

Is there any kind of limitation with that?

Thanks in advance,
Fabio.
