ErrorDocument does not work in Internet Explorer

For clarity, I should have stated Internet Explorer not showing an 
ErrorDocument because of "Show friendly HTTP error messages" is not an Apache 
bug.  The IE setting isn't in Apache documentation as being the source of the 
problem, and much time can be wasted searching Apache configuration files for 
non-obvious settings like AllowOverride in httpd.conf (which is documented).
