Also disable IIS (or reconfigure to use another port) if you have that running, you can verify this by doing a "netstat -an" in the command console ("msdos prompt") or by telnetting yourself at the desired port like "telnet localhost 80" and see if you get a prompt or not. Login as Administrator, run the "apache -k install" and reboot the system.
