hmm, strange.
I've tested both of your attachments more or less extensive, but they work fine.
System: Win2k, httpd-2.0.43, active perl 5.8 (beta; build 802).
(don't have XP...)

Do you have some special filters running? (server side, local proxy or something).
Can anyone else reproduce the behaviour?

(by the way: Content-Transfer-Encoding doesn't exist in HTTP and the use of
Content-Disposition is not really recommended, see RFC 2616; 19.4.5 and 15.5)
