Leave Debug symbol on Darwin

           Summary: Leave Debug symbol on Darwin
           Product: Apache httpd-1.3
           Version: HEAD
          Platform: Macintosh
        OS/Version: MacOS X
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Minor
          Priority: Other
         Component: Build
        AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
        ReportedBy: oyama@cpan.org

A 'configure' script on Darwin, makes wrong Makefile which strip a symbol
unconditionally. For this reason, since trouble occurs in debugging, I want you
to repair.

When platform which performed the 'configure' script is '*-apple-darwin*', a
setup which strip(s) compulsorily is performed as follows at the time of
installation.
    *-apple-darwin*)
        default_layout="Darwin"
        iflags_core="${iflags_core} -S \"-S\""
        iflags_dso="${iflags_dso} -S \"-S\""
        ;;

Why does it strip clearly?
I comment out as follows and use.

% diff -C3 configure.org configure
*** configure.org       Tue May 21 21:24:59 2002
--- configure   Wed Oct 16 18:53:29 2002
***************
*** 339,345 ****
        ;;
      *-apple-darwin*)
        default_layout="Darwin"
!       iflags_core="${iflags_core} -S \"-S\""
        iflags_dso="${iflags_dso} -S \"-S\""
        ;;
      *OS/2* )
