BerkeleyDB API is different, no dbm_ calls. no dbm_ calls are used in gode as
well... so how can linking against it help?

SDBM - not compatible with ndbm databases
GDBM - not compatible with ndbm databases
DB (hash as you can find from apr_dbm_berkeleydb.c) also not compatible with
ndbm databases....

GDBM will provide you API to use it as direct replacement, but it still can't
use real ndbm files....
