suggest documenting (in FAQ)erronous results of not changing "ServerName www.mynet.com" in
httpd.conf

Summary: suggest documenting (in FAQ)erronous results of not
                    changing "ServerName www.mynet.com" in httpd.conf
           Product: Apache httpd-1.3
           Version: 1.3.23
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Enhancement
          Priority: Other
         Component: Documentation
        AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
        ReportedBy: paul_benz@yahoo.com

I did my homework, or so I thought I did .and looked for a reference to a
problem I was having. I did not find a reference yet I figured out what was
causing the problem and thought I would suggest solution what seems to be an
illogical behavior in the apache software or an incorrect dns entry.

I suggest documenting (in FAQ)erronous results of not changing "ServerName
www.mynet.com" in httpd.conf. If a person has a url of "www.myurl.com", a
directory of "newsite", and types in www.myurl.com/newsite with out the
trailing "/" then apache directs the request to www.mynet.com/newsite/.

A faq entry such as "Why are some of my requests directed to www.mynet.com?"
Answer: "You probably have not changed the line "ServerName www.mynet.com" in
httpd.conf. "www.mynet.com" should be replaced with your url
