program directory

           Summary: program directory
           Product: Apache httpd-2.0
           Version: 2.0.35
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows NT/2K
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: Other
         Component: mod_actions
        AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
        ReportedBy: vparfilko@forbes.com

file location:

c:\web\ - web root - declared in config file, keep static default files
c:\...\cgi-bin\ - cgi-bin keep foxweb.exe (web broker)
h:\...\foxweb\ - program root directory - keep programs, scripts, databases,
ets. for foxweb. This directory located on the network, defined in FoxWeb
cofiguration, and appache do not know about it

in appache config:

AddHandler foxweb-script .fwx
Action foxweb-script /cgi-bin/FoxWeb.exe

in previous version (apache 1.3) everything was fine:
browser call http://hostname/dir/script.fwx
appache call /cgi-bin/FoxWeb.exe
and FoxWeb call /dir/script.fwx from program root directory/
Directory c:\web\dir\ is also existed and keep static files for aplication

apache 2.0 with the same configuration generate error "Object not found!",
because-ofcause script.fwx is not located in the "c:\web\dir\" (but
in "h:\...\foxweb\dir\")
if I create empty(!) file c:\web\dir\script.fwx, so
h:\...\foxweb\dir\script.fwx is processed successfuly
it means apache 2.0 check if file script.fwx exist before calling foxweb !
but apache 2.0 should not even see this file on the network

so, I have to:
return to previos version of apache and lost some new features of 2.0 version
or
move all .fwx scripts into c:\web\dir\ - I dont want, because it less secure
or
create dummy empty .fwx files in c:\web\dir\ for EVERY new script file - monkey
work

I think the same problem will happen with all web-developers, who keep script
and static files separatly

sincerely
vadim
