Additional characters send through when modproxy is enabled.

Summary: Additional characters send through when modproxy is
                    enabled.
           Product: Apache httpd-1.3
           Version: 1.3.24
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Critical
          Priority: Other
         Component: mod_proxy
        AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
        ReportedBy: timp@iserve.co.nz

Compiled Apache 1.3.24 like:

./configure \
"--with-layout=Apache" \
"--prefix=/usr/local/apache" \
"--enable-module=vhost_alias" \
"--enable-module=rewrite" \
"--enable-module=proxy" \
"--disable-module=userdir"

When we mod_proxy to a webserver running PHP (seems to be all versions of
PHP from 4.0 (that we have been able to test)) with IE 5.5.1 and Netscape 4.75
additional characters (numeric) are displayed at the top left and bottom left of the
page (ie: before <HEAD> and after </HEAD> tags).

We tryed to replicate the fault with 1.3.19 and 1.3.23 and were unable to so it
might be something in 1.3.24 specificly.

We are running RedHat 7.1 kernel 2.4.17 on the Apache webserver machine (in
question).

We have down graded to 1.3.23 until this can be resolved.

Please let us know if you wish for us to test anything.
