Provided that you use HiveMind's default Spring bean factory you can do this:

BeanFactory beanFactory = (BeanFactory)
registry.getService("hivemind.lib.DefaultSpringBeanFactory",
BeanFactory.class);
Bean bean = (Bean) beanFactory.getBean("bean", Bean.class);
