Subject spark cannot see the data in tables created and populated by Hive
Date Thu, 10 Dec 2015 23:45:12 GMT
When running spark 1.5.3 independently (as opposed to running Hive on spark
engine) and pointing to hive metastore, I notice that spark can describe
tables already existing and created by hive but crucially cannot see the
data.

On the other hand any table created by spark and populated by hive has data
available to spark. Is this behavior expected?

Thanks,
