H JV,
We keep getting this error on 2 different clusters (2 MySQL instances).
With version 0.11 we did not encounter this problem and I've found few
posts describing similar errors.

I'm wondering whether it might be related to the BoneCP/Datanucleus
framework that was introduced in 0,12.
